Position Overview
Community Alliance is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our 23-hour crisis stabilization program. This role is critical in providing timely psychiatric assessments and clinical decision-making for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced crisis environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for clients presenting in mental health crisis
- Evaluate mental status, risk level, and immediate treatment needs
- Diagnose psychiatric conditions in accordance with DSM criteria
- Develop and document treatment recommendations and disposition plans
- Determine appropriateness for admission, discharge, or higher levels of care
- Collaborate closely with crisis clinicians, nurses, case managers, and program leadership
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications when clinically appropriate
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record
- Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination to support client stabilization
- Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active and unrestricted state licensure
- Experience conducting psychiatric assessments in crisis, emergency, inpatient, or acute settings
- Strong clinical judgment and risk assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in crisis stabilization units, emergency departments, or mobile crisis programs
- Familiarity with 23-hour crisis, Residential Crisis Stabilization, and Community Stabilization.
- Experience working with diverse and high-acuity populations
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time position
- Must be flexible and available to work weekends
- May include rotating shifts based on program needs
Compensation: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
