Security Guard – RCSU / 23-Hour Stabilization Center
Position Summary
The Security Guard supports safety and operations at a crisis stabilization facility by controlling access, monitoring the environment, assisting with intake flow, and supporting staff during non-clinical incidents. This is a non-clinical role and does not involve assessments, admission decisions, or therapeutic services.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Access Control
- Monitor and control entry and exit to the facility
- Enforce visitor sign-in/sign-out and ID requirements
- Monitor security cameras and conduct routine safety checks
- Maintain a calm, professional front-of-house environment
Intake & Front Desk Support (Non-Clinical)
- Greet walk-ins and ensure required sign-in procedures are followed
- Request and collect photo ID and insurance cards (no eligibility determinations)
- Secure personal belongings according to policy
- Notify intake staff or leadership of arrivals and delays
De-Escalation & Incident Support
- Use approved verbal de-escalation techniques
- Support staff during agitation or conflict until clinical staff intervene
- Follow escalation and chain-of-command procedures
- Contact emergency services only as directed by protocol
Communication & Coordination
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Activate on-call staff as needed during evenings or after hours
- Coordinate approved transportation for discharges or transfers when assigned
Documentation
- Complete incident reports for safety issues, walk-ins, refusals, and escalations
- Submit documentation before the end of shift
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior security, healthcare, or behavioral health experience preferred
- Strong communication and situational awareness skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Must pass required background and fingerprint checks
